WAREHOUSE MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY

In this position, the Inventory + Warehouse Manager is responsible for all aspects of the life of inventory and the functions of the Hive warehouse. They source inventory, negotiate pricing, monitor shipping/receiving, provide best storage solutions, and oversees repair and inventory shrinkage. The position serves as the expert for the inventory control software for the entire company. Additionally, they maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace while managing all warehouse functions and cross-functional teams. 

Responsibilities of our Inventory + Warehouse Manager includes but are not limited to:

THE HIVE

  • Ensures that Company standards are being met and that policies and procedures are being followed

  • Participates in creative growth + financial success on each event

  • Attends one-on-one meetings with manager, to share information about workload, successes, and challenges

  • Attends production and planning meetings and actively provides information regarding inventory and warehouse operations

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Champions computerized inventory tracking system and trains company on feature updates

  • Provides inventory quality checks regularly to provide clients with the highest level of product

  • Maintains accurate inventory records and provides performance and status reports as requested

  • Physically conducts inventory inspection and audits to always ensure 100% accuracy

  • Researches, recommends, and implements inventory storage and handling improvements to decrease shrinkage and increase warehouse operational efficiency

  • Physically inspects inventory damages and/or repairs and researches and implements cost-effective and timely solutions with internal and external fabricators

  • Assists in identifying and moving excess and obsolete inventory. Works closely with all departments to assure a smooth transition and eliminate obsolescence when changes are made in product specifications and utilization

  • Manages website inventory pages to reflect accurate counts and availability for external use

  • Available in the warehouse to guide staff through inventory issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR INVENTORY PURCHASING & PROCUREMENT

  • Manages purchasing process from start to finish, including ordering, tracking, processing, assembly, and storage

  • Maintains the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation

  • Fosters healthy relationships with all suppliers and identifies new vendors alongside Creative Director

  • Negotiates all elements of cost including pricing and freight costs

  • Evaluates and communicates issues or concerns with new inventory requested regarding longevity and fragility of product prior to purchase

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS

  • Oversees the workflow and objectives of the warehouse and coordinates with the operations team to schedule and staff in accordance with needs

  • Creates efficient space utilization and flexibility of arrangement, reduces the need for material handling equipment, minimizes material deterioration and pilferage, and allows ease of physical inventory

  • Collaborates with operations and creative departments to schedule event preparation objectives for all events

  • Identifies and requests labor requirements to Director of Operations for to efficiently complete all warehouse tasks

  • Achieves financial objectives by adhering to annual budget with proper expense scheduling and monitoring

  • Manages building maintenance and cleanliness, including subcontracting services for repairs and general upkeep

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in business or other related field preferred

  • 3+ years of inventory control management experience

  • 2+ years of product sourcing and supplier management experience

  • 3+ years of warehouse operations experience, preferably in a white glove service environment

  • 1+ year of experience supervising a rotating team

  • Proven experience with inventory control software

  • Experience with photo-editing software preferred

  • Proficient knowledge of warehouse policies and safety

  • Ability to safely drive and load a 26’ box truck

  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds with assistance

  • Maintain high levels of communication and transparency with management, cross-functional teams, and business partners

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret client proposal requirements, contracts, financial reports and other legal documents

  • Special skills such as wood working, furniture repair, painting, and power tool use preferred

  • Self-starter who can effortlessly manage a wide range of tasks and objectives

  • Must have a flexible schedule which may include nights, holidays, and weekends

  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position will work in a warehouse or on-site event environments including both indoor in climate-controlled environments and outdoors in non-climate-controlled environments. This position will travel to event locations and other domestic travel as needed. Must be able to stand and move event materials up to 50% of the time. The employee will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
