Reactive glaze is a broad term for the unique finishes resulting from a non-formulaic firing in the kiln. This means that because of the higher heat boiling process, it cannot be predicted how the finish will end up looking. Therefore, no two pieces of reactive glaze dinnerware are identical. Whether due to oxidisation or chemical reaction during the process, the finish is notable for its completely spontaneous visual outcome and organic aesthetics.
